What is a Community Classroom?
Led by the Richard R. Green Institute for Teaching and Learning at Augsburg College, Community Classroom will help teachers and families work better together by holding active dialogues about learning, communication and educational success for elementary and middle school students. Community Classroom will connect elementary and middle schools with community and higher educational organizations in their neighborhoods creating Learning Communities.
These Learning Communities will focus on helping families and teachers to work cooperatively to improve student learning and guidance. Using the Learning Park television show as a cornerstone, we'll have discussions at different ethnic and community organizations for parents and teachers. Community discussions will be open to the public so that anyone can become part of the dialogues.
