School District Input on Staff Development

  • Personal Learner Goals — Refine the system for setting and achieving personally challenging and relevant learning goals /plan for each learn with active involvement of that learner and, where appropriate, in partnership with teachers, staff and parents.
  • Diversity — Establish a caring community of learners that embraces diversity and supports each student’s personal, social, and academic achievement.
  • Standards- Complete the process of establishing standards of performance at each appropriate

level / benchmark and developing means of assessing whether students have met those standards.

  • Ethical Behavior — Fully integrate principals of ethical behavior throughout our caring community of learners.
  • Partnership — Establish partnerships with families and community to assist the district in achieving it mission and objectives.
  • Differentiated Instruction — Provide staff with the time and resources necessary to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners in order to ensure their ability to meet district strategic objectives.
  • Entrepreneurial Activities — Continue to develop new learning opportunities to help us achieve our objectives, including capitalizing on entrepreneurial activities in order to reach more learners and to enhance resources.
  • Safe/caring environment- Students need to feel that school is a safe / caring environment to learning in.
  • Instructional technology — Continue to use new and improving technologies to enhance the learning experience for the student. Provide staff with support to infuse technology in to their teaching.
  • Technology (staff and students) — Increase student and staff use of technology to improve learning. Use technology to improve the effectiveness of information management systems and communication with all staff and families in more accessible, timely, and useful ways.
